National Grief Support Week 2008
Supporting Each Other Through the Pain of Loss
We are partnering with grief support organizations all over the country to dedicate December 15-21 as National Grief Support Week, 2008.

During this very special week, we come together to recognize and comfort our friends, relatives and neighbors who are grieving, and to surround them with compassionate, loving support during the holiday season – one of the most challenging times of the year for those who have lost a loved one.
How YOU can take part in Grief Support Week:
As an individual:
- Organize a screening of Motherland during the week of December 15-21 in your community, at your place of worship, workplace or at your home for family, friends and colleagues.
- Write an article or letter to the editor about the importance of Grief Support Week for your local newspaper or your favorite magazine. Of course, send us a copy too!
- Buy three DVDs: give one to someone you care about who'd benefit from Motherland’s inspiring message, and give one to your local library.
As an Organization:
There are a few ways you can join the project and be included in the national media coverage we are now working to secure:
- Become an official Partner, and add your organization's name and description to the growing number of signatory groups. This list will appear on the campaign page at www.motherland-thefilm.org/partner, and will be included in all press releases and media kits.
- Host an event during Grief Support Week, including a screening and discussion of Motherland for your members and attendees.
- Place a banner for Grief Support Week on your organization's web page, referring visitors to the campaign webpage.
- Join our Partners in sending two coordinated email blasts recommending Grief Support Week and Motherland to your organization's list.
- Purchase a bulk order of sub-wholesale-priced DVDs as a fundraising opportunity for your group.
* (While the Motherland DVD retails for $24.95 each, we make them available to partner groups in boxes of 30 at $10 each.)
* Partners typically give DVDs away as premiums during fundraising drives, and/or sell to supporters for $20 each
- Make a 100% tax-deductible donation to Motherland. Help support our marketing and outreach efforts to make sure the film gets out into the world and is able to touch as many people as possbile.
